Privacy Policy

Last updated November 2, 2026

This policy explains how Respite VPN ("Respite", "we") handles your information. It covers the Respite apps for Android, Windows and Linux, and the servers they connect to. The short version: we keep no logs.

No logs

Our servers do not record:

Your connection reaches our servers through the DNS system, so in most cases our servers see the address of a DNS provider rather than your own. To pass your traffic along, a server has to know where it is going at that moment. That information is used only in memory to open the connection and is never written down or kept.

What stays on your device

Your settings, chosen server, split tunneling choices and data usage figures are stored only on your device. We never receive them. Uninstalling Respite removes them.

Your device key

The first time you open Respite, it creates a random key on your device. This lets your device set up an encrypted connection with our servers. The key is not linked to your name, email, phone number or any account. Our servers hold it in memory only while you are connected and forget it a few minutes after you stop.

No account

Respite does not ask for your name, email address, phone number or a password.

Ads

Running servers costs money, and ads are what keep Respite free and its servers running. The free version of Respite may show ads provided by Google AdMob. To show and measure ads, Google may collect your device's advertising ID and basic device information, as described in How Google uses information from apps that use its services. You can reset or delete your advertising ID at any time in your Android settings. We do not give Google or any ad provider information about the sites you visit through Respite.

Respite Pro

Respite Pro is a subscription sold through Google Play. Google handles the payment under its own privacy policy. We only receive confirmation that a subscription is active, which unlocks Pro servers. We never see your payment details.

Sharing and selling

We do not sell, rent or share your information. We have nothing to hand over because we keep no logs.

Security

Traffic between your device and our servers is encrypted with modern, well-reviewed cryptography, and the keys are refreshed every few minutes. Most websites add their own encryption (HTTPS) on top, which we cannot read.

Deleting your data

There is nothing on our side to delete: we keep no logs and no account. To remove everything Respite stores on your device, uninstall the app.

Children

Respite is meant for adults and is not directed at children under 13.

Changes

If we change this policy, we will update this page and the date above.
